Picking Day

A Saturday in March 2025*
8am-2pm

This is where we begin. We start early to capture the cooler part of the day. You’ll hand pick grapes, learning about the idiosyncrasies of this year’s vintage. After morning tea, we’ll head to the winery and start foot stomping. Discover the impact of whole bunch components, and varying times on skins. Finish up with lunch in the garden. *Picking day is determined by growing conditions, we’ll confirm the date with 2 weeks’ notice.

Pruning Day

Saturday August 23rd 2025
10am-2pm

Learn about the art of pruning and how it impacts future vintages. Then have a chance to pick up the pruning shears and give it a go. Back in the barrel hall over lunch, you’ll have the first taste of your wine. Owner, Sam Pfeiffer and winemaker Michael J. Corbett will talk you through the winemaking process including: fermentation, pressing, ’elevage’, malolactic fermentation and ‘soutirage’.

Bottling Day

Saturday November 22nd 2025
10am-3pm

Michael and Sam will catch you up on how your wine’s developed over the past few months. You will hand bottle and wax seal your own wine to take home, valued at $70/bottle. A uniquely designed label by KC Originals will include an acknowledgement to the entire Lap Around The Sun team. To celebrate the end of the experience we will enjoy a feast style lunch with a large array of unique wines.
